The ISG Team

SouthField Studios LogoISG is committed to delivering a new concept in film and television studio design, construction, and operation, the result of years of hands on experience in all facets of the entertainment industry. In the ISG concept, a studio is a creative campus of stages, offices, set streets, and production service departments designed by producers for producers. At the core of ISG’s design philosophy is a state of the art destination that will meet and serve the needs of every conceivable type of entertainment project. ISG’s creative team has developed this concept while individually and collectively designing, building, owning, operating or working at motion picture studios across the Hollywood landscape.

Between them, ISG principals count more than 100 years of entertainment-industry experience. Bob Papazian and Jim Hirsch have been involved in the creation and production of some of television’s most highly regarded series, including CBS’s NASH BRIDGES and HBO’s “ROME”. As a production partnership, they have made more than 60 other television movies and miniseries – work that has garnered more than 27 Emmy nominations and 9 Emmy awards. They co-founded Ray Art Studios, a full-service, state-of-the-art production facility, which housed many of Hollywood’s leading independent producers, studios and networks including MGM, Fox, Disney, Paramount, Spelling, NBC, ABC, WB and TNT.

They later became partnered in the ownership of Hollywood's legendary Sunset-Gower Studios, formerly Columbia Pictures and home to Columbia’s famed movie mogul Harry Cohn. Papazian served as CEO, overseeing and restoring the 18-acre facility along Sunset Boulevard, which features 17 motion picture and television sound stages and is currently the home of NBC’s breakout hit, “Heroes”, among many other shows and feature films. Papazian’s team returned Sunset- Gower to its original luster while upgrading the studio into a state-of-the-art facility before recently selling the studio for more than $229 million.

ISG principal Jack McDaniel helped design and build theme park facilities for Universal Studios in California and Florida, Paramount Theme Parks, and parks in Ontario, Canada and Vienna, Austria; and designed and built gaming facilities, restaurants, theaters, and entertainment venues at Santa Anita Park in California and Gulfstream Park in Florida.

ISG principal Allan Kassirer, in addition to producing several films, is a highly respected entertainment lawyer and a nationally recognized expert in the field of tax incentive legislation; a key component to the creation of new jobs and new business growth created by the presence of Southfield Studios Boston.
