Natural Wetlands to Formal Parks

Open space is a precious resource these days, and untouched green space is one of SouthField's special hallmarks. An amazing statistic is that much of the site's preserved space is being reopened to the public for the first time in 63 years.

From natural wilds to formal parks, SouthField’s master plan preserves 70 percent of the land for open space and recreation, including undisturbed forests, open grasslands, and majestic wetlands where native species can reclaim their rightful space.

With their dispersed locations and easy access around the site, it won't take more than five minutes to reach undisturbed open spaces from any SouthField neighborhood. SouthField's Green Plan also includes wildlife viewing areas for observing nature, an overlook for viewing scenic spaces, and a launch for canoeing along the Old Swamp River. So grab your binoculars or paint box and rediscover SouthField.
