$15M Stimulus on Base Parkway

Attempts to construct the East-West parkway at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station have gotten a $15 million federal assist. Funding for the two-lane roadway is on Gov. Deval Patrick’s list of 33 priority projects under the Massachusetts Recovery Plan. The list was announced on Oct. 26.

Governor patrick Announces $165 Million in Priorities for Second Round of Highway Stimulus Projects

As part of his Massachusetts Recovery Plan to secure the state’s economic future, Governor Deval Patrick today released a list of 33 priority projects, estimated to cost more than $165.6 million, that the Patrick-Murray Administration is proposing to fund in the second round of highway investment under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

State pushes a wave of construction; Public outlays could spur private projects

Governor Deval Patrick’s administration will spend hundreds of millions of dollars this summer building roads and highway ramps for at least five struggling private developments - from the former Naval air station in Weymouth to Somerville’s Assembly Square — in hopes of jump-starting construction and the local economy.

$147m movie studio planned for S. Weymouth

A California production company today launched plans to build a $147 million motion picture studio on 30 acres at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. Executives with International Studio Group said they intend to begin construction next spring on a 600,000-square-foot complex that will accommodate the production of movies, television shows, video games, and other programs.

Work on Weymouth filmmaking studio nears action

The long-delayed construction of a Hollywood-style sound stage south of Boston could start this fall. International Studio Group is moving ahead with plans to build a 12-stage motion picture studio at SouthField at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station.

The developers of a proposed movie studio complex in South Weymouth are ready for the spotlight. Principals of International Studio Group, the California firm developing the SouthField Studios Boston campus, said they are ready to start signing up tenants for the project.
